Focus of Grants
The RDC Foundation will consider any application from a registered charity* for up to £1000 toward equipment to support adventurous recreational and leisure time activities for young people under the age of 21 so as to develop their mental, physical and moral capabilities so that they may grow to full maturity as individuals and members of society.
*Please note that a registered Scout or GirlGuiding group is also acceptable. Any group applying must not generate an annual income >£100K p.a. and there can be no employee of the charity earning more than £60K p.a.
Scope of Grants
The applicant must be a charity (or registered Scout or Guide Group) which is involved in adventurous outdoor activity opportunities for young people.
The grant must be for relevant equipment for adventurous activities and the equipment must be in keeping with the skills and purpose of the charity (i.e. will be used safely).
The equipment must get young people into the outdoors not just outside.
We will not support: Training, travel to/from activities, participation of young people in organised activities, any Archery/Shooting or similar activities.
Key conditions for accepting a grant
Due to demand for grants currently exceeding funds available (by a significant margin) we will only consider applications from the same group every 12 months
You must provide 3 quotes for each item proposed to show good value and your quotes should reflect the discount we can achieve through our list of providers where possible
Where possible we will purchase the item from our provider and get the equipment sent to you, if this is not possible you will purchase the item and then provide a receipt which once received will be refunded by The RDC Foundation (monies will only paid to a charity account, not an individual)
On providing the equipment to you or on payment of the grant you must provide a photo of the relevant community with equipment from RDC Foundation for our promotional use. We reserve the right to request the return of the equipment to us if this is not provided within 3 months of receipt
Application process
The trustees will acknowledge receipt of application by email and may ask additional follow-up questions. If your application meets our criteria it will be reviewed by the trustees who meet quarterly (January, April, July, October) to review all applications over the period. We will respond with the trustee decision thereafter.

Equipment partners
We are extremely grateful to a number of equipment companies that have agreed to allow us to purchase directly from them at significantly discounted prices from their regular retail price to help us make our limited funds go further.
We encourage all applicants to review whether our partners offer appropriate equipment for their needs and they should list the products they specify at the RRP price minus the appropriate discount in their application form.
We respect that applicants may have specific equipment needs for which our equipment partners are not appropriate. However if a similar product is available from our partners at a lower price we would ask for clarification on why you have chosen not to consider our partners.
Please fully complete the form below by answering the questions and press submit at the end.
