Scope of Grants

• The individual must be spending the grant on a self-led expedition, travels or adventurous activity that will benefit their development

• The individual must be able to demonstrate they are taking the leading role in organising their trip (i.e. they will benefit from the learning of planning not just the undertaking)

• The individual is making a clear and meaningful effort to fund an equivalent value to that granted through hard work themselves

• The individual must be undertaking an activity within their reasonable capabilities (we won’t fund training or pre trip preparation costs)

Key conditions for accepting a grant

• You must provide proof that you have raised an equal amount of money to that being granted to demonstrate your own personal desire and commitment to the trip planned. This cannot be from other charitable contributions but must come from payment for work you have completed (e.g. a job, making and selling items, providing services to the local community in exchange for payment etc)

• We will only pay grant money to the individual bank account of the person listed in the grant application and only upon proof of relevant receipts associated with the trip to the value of twice the grant value (e.g. flights, accommodation)

• After the trip you must send at least one photo of you during your trip and a 1 page report of the trip and achievements for our promotional use

Application process

The trustees will acknowledge receipt of application by email and may ask additional follow-up questions. If your application meets our criteria it will be reviewed by the trustees who meet quarterly (January, April, July, October) to review all applications over the period. We will respond with the trustee decision thereafter.
